19 weeks

Last week we found out we are having a boy! I was so sure it was a girl but David's instincts were better than mine. We are very excited and are planning on buying nursery furniture this week! David is picturing notre dame onesies and tiny baseball outfits and I am wrapping my head around the idea of John Johns and trying to get over the fact that there will be no hairbows or bloomers! No idea what to do with a boy but I will figure it out.

We found out on the 16th but the week was so busy with my car being in the shop, Gracie getting fixed, and an Open House I was in charge of at work. I am now in Atlanta for the holiday week and finally have some time on my hands.

We are taking our Christmas pictures this week and I am hoping this new shape I'm sporting comes across well in a picture.

Here I am back at 16 weeks

And here is 18 weeks

15 weeks

This bump seemed to literally grow overnight...seriously. I am starting to feel my skin stretch a little and it is itchy! That brown line is also starting to appear...how nice.

Not too much longer till we find out what we're having! Nov 16...hopefully the baby will be cooperative!

We are shopping for baby beds, but are holding off until we know for sure what it will be. David says everything I pick is girly...haha. I have had several dreams about the baby being a girl so of course my intuition is telling me girl, but we'll see.

The backyard is almost completely done and we are soon getting rid of all this carpet and getting new floors. Pictures to come soon.

14 weeks

It's been awhile but there really wasn't much to see and not that much to tell this past month. I am feeling completely better minus the tiredness...that is better too but I don't think I'll get back to 100%.

Around 12 weeks I started noticing a bump and it still looks about the same. No one really guesses I'm pregnant unless they already know but there is definitely a little something to see now.

I went for another doctors appointment and everything looks good so far. I heard the heartbeat again and it was 157 this time. We go back in a month to find out if it is a boy or girl!

Work is keeping me pretty busy and I have been fighting allergies and sinus and as you know can't take much in the way of medicine so I'm toughing it out.

Here is a 12 week picture:

And here is one of me in Vegas (for a work conference) at 13 weeks. This top is a pre-pregnancy top and after looking at this picture I'd say it's time to put it away :)

10 weeks

No picture this week, because it looks exactly the same as last week. Should be some changes around the corner but for now not much to see.

Last weekend I spent the entire weekend at an out of town wedding and it pretty much wiped me out for the rest of the week. I stayed at home this weekend and got caught up on some much needed rest.

Except for the continued exhaustion, I am feeling a little better every day. Yesterday I had the strangest desire to bake. I made raisin bran muffins, chocolate chip cookies, trail mix, and then today I made pot roast, slaw and corn bread. Maybe I am starting to get some energy back or maybe this is that nesting thing they talk about (I also organized my pantry for the first time ever).

In Gracie news: she chewed up the charger for her shock collar, guess she didn't like that thing. Also I found her outside eating something that had legs and a tail. It could have been a frog, mouse, baby rabbit, etc but by the time I saw it, it looked like a raw oyster with legs. Gross.

9 weeks

The last few days have thankfully been a lot better and I haven't had nearly as much morning sickness. I feel like I am starting to get the hang of when and what to eat to make sure I'm feeling ok and not getting sick. I'm still really tired but I'll happily take that over nauseous.

Today was our 9 week appointment and I was really nervous about it. I felt just like I did when I went in at 5 weeks..."what if I'm not really pregnant and just plain crazy...am I imagining all this?" You have to admit it is kind of strange to think there's a baby in there, when sometimes I think I just have the swine flu...haha.

But once again they confirmed that I actually am pregnant (duh) and everything looks great! We had our ultrasound first and it was awesome to see our little baby (count that...1 and only 1, thank you lord) swimming around! We were shocked at how much you could make out this early. We saw a head and 2 arm buds and 2 leg buds. It was moving its arms all around and David swore it waved to us on the screen. The little heart was beating at 160 and looked like a fast blinking light. We could actually hear it really really well! It measured about an inch and you could still hear it loud and clear. It definitely felt more real after that (especially for David) and I am starting to get more and more excited now that everything looks good and I can relax a little.

After that we met with the doctor and I had some blood drawn and we made another appointment in 4 weeks. The next ultrasound should be at the appointment after that around 18 weeks where we will try to determine the sex.

Here is our ultrasound picture...it is definitely not as clear as what we saw on the screen...it looks more like a blob. Plus this is a picture of a picture so it's not the best but I wanted to post it.

Here I am at 9 weeks. Not much to see but my pants are getting a little tighter around the waist. By the way my shirt says Botulism because it is a botox shirt I got from work that I wore under my scrubs.

I did find a picture online of what a 9 week baby looks like.

Now I'm home and getting packed to head out of town Saturday and Sunday with David's family for a wedding. David left this afternoon for Tuscaloosa where the first home game means the start of a busy season for the other parking company. He'll be there all weekend for all home games but I'll be going with him for some of the games.

8 weeks

This week has been rough. I have felt really really tired and have developed a love-hate relationship with food. Eating makes me feel nauseous but not eating makes me feel worse. In the in-between times when I feel a little better I am STARVING! I have never had an appetite like this before but I'm trying to keep it in check to stay healthy.

Speaking of that, my exercise routine has stopped completely these past few weeks, but I'm hoping to start to feel better after a couple more weeks and get back to my routine. I do miss working out and sometimes I think I'd feel better if I would get moving, but I honestly don't have the energy right now.

I am going to start posting belly pictures next week even though there isn't much to see. Right now I can't bring myself to do it because I just feel like I look bloated. I have noticed the waist on my pants getting a little tighter. I'll start next week so that I'll have some record of being this size later on...haha.

7 weeks

In the past week we've announced to pretty much everyone the news of our pregnancy and everyone seems to be very excited for us! We are still getting used to all of this as well but it is already turning out to be a lot of fun and involving many many changes.

Suddenly I am trying on maternity clothes (not needed yet, don't worry), worrying about my caffeine intake, listing to lots of "should you be lifting that?" comments at work, and overall getting very excited along with everyone else about the whole process.

I was not, however, prepared for all the changes that come along with pregnancy. I have begun to experience morning sickness and can best describe it as feeling sea-sick on a boat. I was also completely knocked off my feet by the fatigue...I thought I knew how it felt to be really really tired but this is something else.

Everyone has been great and cheered me on as I eat my weight in saltine crackers and turn my nose at things that I can suddenly smell from a mile away. This is turning out to be some adventure.
